Explore aerial work, balance and manipulation in a four-week circus course for autistic and neurodiverse young people aged 12-15. Teaching is tailored to each participant’s needs, with a supportive space to build confidence, coordination and communication skills.
Youth Sensory Circus is a four-week recreational circus course for autistic and neurodiverse young people aged 12 to 15. It has been developed in collaboration with young autistic people, Hackney Ark and the Health Integration Team, with the aim of providing a safe and supportive environment where participants can build confidence, coordination and communication skills.
The course gives young people the chance to explore a range of circus activities, including aerial work, balance and manipulation. Teaching is tailored to each child’s individual needs, and the programme is designed to be accessible while still offering a fun and engaging way to try new skills.
It can also act as a pathway into the National Centre for Circus Arts’ wider youth programme. Booking is online, and if the course has already started you can contact reception to check whether places are still available or to join the waiting list.
