Protecting and Restoring Nature with Natural England: Virtual Work Experience

Discover how Natural England protects and restores England’s natural environment, and explore the challenges facing wildlife, habitats, and landscapes today. The programme looks at issues such as biodiversity loss, habitat decline, climate change, and the pressures of development, while showing how nature-based solutions and sustainable planning can help create healthier and more resilient places for people and wildlife.

You will take part in interactive content, quizzes, and activities that build your understanding of the organisation’s work and the skills needed in this sector. The experience introduces Natural England’s role as the government’s adviser for the natural environment, its strategic outcomes, and the practical actions used to recover nature and support biodiversity across England.

The programme also gives you an overview of career paths within Natural England, including conservation, planning, science, policy, and support roles.
