Research local issues, draft press releases and answer constituents’ queries by phone or email in a real political office. Depending on your age and ability, you could also accompany the MP to meetings and events in Parliament or the constituency.
Neil O'Brien offers work experience opportunities to students from his constituency. The placement is designed to give young people an insight into local politics and help them build practical skills in a real political office.
Participants can get involved in a range of office and political tasks, including researching issues, taking press cuttings, writing press releases, assisting with office duties, and answering queries from constituents by phone or email. Depending on the age and ability of the student, they may also help with casework or accompany the MP to meetings and events in Parliament or in the constituency.
Free to take part.
