Newcastle University Discover Careers in Music Tech

Discover Careers in Music Tech is an in-person careers event from Newcastle University and Technology in Music Education for young people interested in the music industry. It brings together industry professionals, educators and creative practitioners to showcase the many routes into careers across music, production, songwriting and music technology.

The day includes an arrival and Meet the Industry expo, an opening keynote, and a panel discussion on routes into the industry. Attendees can hear directly from professionals working in music and creative technology, ask questions about their career journeys and find out which skills matter in today’s fast-changing sector.

There is also plenty of hands-on exploration, including opportunities to try digital instruments and music technology products, discover accessible and adaptive technologies, and meet organisations such as Generator and Headline Audio. The event also highlights how Newcastle University supports music and technology pathways, making it a useful introduction for students considering creative careers.
