Explore Newcastle University’s campus through practical enterprise activities: pitch ideas, make business decisions and tackle real-world scenarios with your team. Teachers can tailor the day to their group, with in-school outreach and video resources available if a campus visit isn’t possible.
Newcastle University’s Enterprise Days are campus-based outreach visits designed to help young people explore entrepreneurship in an engaging, practical way. As part of the Enterprising Futures Academy, students take part in a mix of enterprise-themed activities that build creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, initiative and confidence.
The sessions are aimed at school groups in Years 9 to 11 and are designed to support schools and colleges by linking with wider careers and personal development learning.
Alongside exploring the university campus, students can choose from a range of starter, introduction, interactive and reflective activities, such as pitching ideas, making business decisions, working in teams and thinking through real-world scenarios. The programme is adaptable, so teachers can build a day that suits their group and learning needs.
It is intended to make entrepreneurship feel accessible, relevant and achievable.
Teachers can book their school group onto the programme, and state schools may be able to access travel support through the Visit Bursary. If a visit to campus is not possible, Newcastle University also offers in-school outreach and video resources that develop the same entrepreneurial skills and can be used more flexibly in school settings.
