Year 13 applicants can shape a day around their next steps, with a student Q&A, two optional workshops and a campus tour. Get practical advice on funding, wellbeing, interviews or personal statements, and hear from current students, staff and recent graduates.
Head Start to Uni is a university outreach event for Year 13 students who have already applied to university or are preparing to apply. It is designed to help students build confidence and knowledge around the application process, with support from current students, university staff and recent graduates.
The event includes a student Q&A, two optional workshops and an optional campus tour. Workshop themes include student finance and funding, wellbeing during the application journey, interview preparation for Medicine and Dentistry, and writing a strong personal statement.
The sessions are delivered in university teaching facilities and are intended to help attendees develop practical strategies for their own applications.
Students can attend individually, and teachers can also book places for a school group. The day is structured so that attendees can choose sessions that best suit their needs, while also getting the chance to explore the campus and hear directly from people with recent university experience.
