Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange Work Experience

Work experience at Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange gives students the chance to find out what life is like working in a public art gallery. It is designed to give a real insight into the range of roles involved in running a gallery, with opportunities to explore areas such as marketing, curating, front of house and learning.

The gallery works with each participant to write a brief that reflects the experience they want to gain, so the placement can be shaped around individual interests. It is open to schools, colleges and university students, and offers a practical introduction to the day-to-day work behind the scenes as well as the visitor-facing side of the organisation.
