Meet NHS practitioners and explore pathways into nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, social care and more. Reflect on your strengths, learn what each role needs, and experience day-to-day activities in workplace settings.
These events are designed for S4 to S6 pupils who are unsure which career pathway to pursue and want a broader understanding of NHS careers. They introduce participants to a range of possible roles and help them think about the skills and knowledge needed for each pathway.
During a typical week, pupils hear about careers in the NHS and the different route options available to young people. They are encouraged to reflect on their own interests and strengths and consider how these may connect to different job roles.
The workshops are delivered by practitioners and cover roles such as nursing, midwifery, allied health professions, adult social care, pharmacy, business and administration, and support services. Pupils can also experience day-to-day activities and workplace settings, and may be encouraged to undertake an SVQ Work Placement (SCQF L4).
