Investigate a case over one week, tackling daily tasks set by different departments. Explore the Control Room, statement taking and crime scene investigation while developing teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills. The programme ends with a personal certificate presentation.

Norfolk Constabulary’s award-winning online work experience programme gives young people the chance to experience police work in a virtual setting. It is designed for Norfolk residents aged 16 or 17 who are in their first year of sixth form, college, or an equivalent course, and who want to explore work experience in a fast-paced public service environment.

If selected, you will be given a case to investigate over the course of one week. Each day, different departments within the Constabulary will set tasks that support your investigation, giving you insight into the work of the Control Room, police statement taking, and crime scene investigation.

You will also develop employability skills such as teamworking, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills while applying your academic knowledge in a practical, real-world scenario.

On the final day, there is an optional tour of the Police Officer training site at Hethersett Old Hall. The programme ends with a personal certificate presentation, offering participants a chance to reflect on their experience and celebrate what they have achieved.
