Explore clinical and non-clinical NHS roles through community-based insight days or placements lasting up to five days. You could spend time in local health centres, clinics, community service sites or corporate offices - not hospitals.
North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust offers work experience placements in its NHS community services. The placements are designed to give young people an insight into clinical and non-clinical roles, with options including insight days and short placements of up to five days.
They are based in community settings rather than hospitals.
Placements take place in locations such as local health centres and clinics, community service sites and corporate offices. Most opportunities are in Halton and Warrington, and some placements may be available through the North West Community Dental service.
Hospital-based placements are not offered.
Applicants can apply online using the trust’s form. Clinical placements are for people aged 16 and over, while non-clinical placements are open to people aged 14 and over. The trust prioritises care experienced applicants and also aims to give preference to people who live in the communities it serves.
Applications are reviewed by the Careers and Apprenticeship Team, and the trust aims to respond within 10 working days.
