Welcome visitors at Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre, answering questions, sharing reserve information and helping people follow site rules. You’ll work alongside staff and volunteers, support occasional walks and talks, and can sign up for half-day shifts.
Join Northumberland Wildlife Trust as an Information Assistant at Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre, where you will help create a welcoming experience for visitors to the reserve. Volunteers work alongside staff and other volunteers at the reception area and entrance, providing a friendly presence, answering questions, sharing information, and helping visitors follow site rules.
The role also includes supporting occasional walks and talks, carrying out checks, and completing report forms or logbooks. You may also help to recruit new members and volunteers, so the position suits people who are comfortable speaking with the public and enjoy being part of a visitor-facing team.
The Trust provides induction, health and safety guidance, in-house training, and opportunities to attend volunteer training events. Mileage and public transport costs are reimbursed, and PPE is supplied when needed.
Volunteers can sign up for half-day shifts, with the reception building open seven days a week.
Vehicle mileage and public transport costs will be reimbursed. Personal protective equipment will be supplied when required.
No participant fee stated.
