Join Northumberland Wildlife Trust for a practical young people’s volunteering session at Leazes Park in Newcastle upon Tyne. Participants become “young rangers” for the morning and help with habitat management and conservation work in a local green space.
The session is hands-on and outdoors, supporting the park rangers with tasks such as cutting back growth and keeping paths clear for visitors. It is designed as a friendly beginner-level activity, with no previous experience needed, and all tools and PPE provided.
Participants should wear suitable footwear for uneven ground, including closed-toe shoes with sturdy ankle support. The organisers suggest bringing snacks and a bottle of water, and ask anyone who can no longer attend to let them know because places are limited.
