Want to kickstart your engineering degree? Apply for the Rolton Scholarship at Northumbria: a £4,000 cash award over your first three years for women starting an eligible undergraduate engineering course in Newcastle — boost your finances, build skills and connect with uni support as you progress.

Deadline in 12 daysPrize: £4,000 cash award, paid in instalments across years one, two and three of study.

The Rolton Engineering Scholarship supports women beginning an eligible undergraduate engineering degree at Northumbria University. It is a cash award of £4,000, paid in instalments over the first three years of study, provided the student continues to progress to the next year of the course.

The scholarship is aimed at UK/Home applicants starting at Level 4 on a full-time programme at the Newcastle upon Tyne campus. Applicants must be self-funded, apply for student finance, and meet one of the widening participation or health/disability criteria set out by the university.

Selection is competitive and based on an online written application, where candidates explain how the award will support their aspirations in higher education. The scholarship also carries important restrictions: students on Level 3 routes, foundation-year progression, placement years, or repeat years are not eligible, and recipients cannot hold other undergraduate awards at the same time.
