Artist and podcast host Sophia Mena leads a walkthrough of Julia Isídrez’s ceramic practice, tracing how skills and creative knowledge pass between generations. Look closely and share ideas about women, community and cultural memory in a relaxed discussion, with gallery stools available.
Join Sophia Mena, founder of Somos The Podcast, for an informal walkthrough of Julia Isídrez’s exhibition, with a focus on matriarchal lineage, memory, and the ways creative knowledge is passed from one generation to the next. The session explores Isídrez’s ceramic practice through the stories, skills and relationships that shape her work.
The walkthrough invites close looking and open discussion, linking Isídrez’s inherited ceramic knowledge with broader questions about women, community, and the making of cultural memory. Sophia Mena also brings her own perspective as an artist, creator and podcast host, opening up conversation around what is carried forward, what changes over time, and how creative traditions are reshaped.
This is a relaxed, participatory event with no prior knowledge needed. It takes place in Gallery 1, with slow-paced movement around the galleries, gallery stools available, microphone use for speakers, and wheelchair access provided.
