Travel with purpose on a two-week Nutrition & Public Health outreach placement in Fiji. Run by IVI, the programme places volunteers alongside a qualified practitioner to help combat malnutrition, diabetes and other non-communicable diseases in communities, resorts and schools around Nadi and Lautoka.
Activities include health promotion, free assessments (blood pressure, blood glucose tests, waist-to-hip measurements), group and individual consultations, and preparing education talks on nutrition and exercise.
Teams of 4-8 volunteers work in villages, corporate settings and community centres, carrying out health checks, data entry and designing nutrition and fitness programmes. The placement is suited to recent graduates, qualified professionals or students in nutrition, dietetics, healthcare or natural health who want practical experience.
Typical days vary from shorter 4-6 hour days to longer 8-hour days depending on location and tasks.
The programme includes accommodation (homestays or resort rooms, twin/triple share), three meals a day, ground transport and return transfers from Nadi International Airport. Volunteers receive on-the-ground supervision, necessary equipment (e.
g. , glucose test kits) and a Certificate of Completion on finishing the placement.

Programme fee shown on site: 1,906€ for 2 weeks (listed as 954€ per week). Includes accommodation (homestays and resort rooms, twin/triple share), 3 meals per day, ground transportation, arrival and departure airport transfers (Nadi), use of project equipment, and 24/7 in-country support. Private room upgrade available: $150 per week (check with provider). Final payment details arranged with the local organisation during application.
