Want to turn your creativity into uni-ready work? Join OCAD’s online Level 3 Foundation Diploma to explore art & design pathways, build a standout portfolio and get UCAS-backed support - develop skills and progress to BA degrees from home.

This is an online Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art & Design designed for students aged 16 and over and equivalent to 2-3 A Levels in UCAS points depending on final grade. The accredited course (SEG ABC Awards, Ofqual regulated) prepares students for progression to higher education and BA Honours degrees and includes portfolio support and UCAS application assistance.

Students work through a three-stage programme (Exploratory, Pathway, Confirmatory) delivered via a personal online studio with units, assignments, video tutorials and supporting resources. Students study three project pathways (photography is mandatory plus two others from fine art, graphic design & illustration, 3D/architecture/ sculpture, fashion & textiles) and receive personal tutor feedback and one-to-one tuition as part of the course.

Entry requires five GCSEs (or equivalent) including maths and English or a strong portfolio; mature applicants may be accepted with examples of work. Study options include full-time (one year, typical starts in autumn or winter) or part-time (two years, available year-round).
