Octagon Bolton Work Experience

Octagon Bolton’s work experience programme offers a one-week placement for young people who want a practical introduction to theatre careers. Based at The Octagon in Bolton, the placement gives students a chance to see how a busy producing theatre operates and to learn about the different roles that keep it running.

Working alongside the Creative Engagement team, participants can shadow staff across departments including Marketing, Box Office and Production. They also attend participation groups, giving a broader picture of how the theatre connects with audiences and communities.

The programme is highly competitive, with only a small number of places available. Participants may also have the opportunity to watch a performance, subject to scheduling and availability.
