Optical Assistant Apprenticeship - Bridgwater Specsavers

This is a full-time Level 3 Optical Assistant apprenticeship based at the Specsavers store in Bridgwater. Apprentices will work on the shop floor delivering customer service, booking eye tests, pre-screening patients, measuring and fitting frames, processing orders and payments, and supporting other store activities.

The role involves regular customer contact and working within regulated procedures (e. g. GDPR, NHS, health & safety).

Training is delivered mainly on-the-job with specialist training elements provided by Specsavers Optical Superstores Limited. The programme includes Functional Skills in maths and English if required, and an End-Point Assessment (EPA) on completion.

The apprenticeship is full-time (39 hours per week) including weekend working; most training takes place daily in store and no college attendance is required.

Applicants should hold GCSE Maths (grade 9-4 / A*-C) and be able to commute to the Bridgwater store. The apprenticeship starts Tuesday 30 December 2025 and runs for approximately 1 year 6 months. Candidates apply via GOV.UK One Login and will be redirected to the employer's application process.
