This is a Level 3 Optical Assistant apprenticeship with Specsavers in Ashford. The role is full-time (40 hours per week, including weekend working) and mainly on-the-job in store, with specialist training provided by Specsavers Optical Superstores Limited.
Duties include booking customers for eye tests, pre-screening, measuring and fitting frames, advising customers on lens and frame choices, processing orders and payments, and delivering high standards of customer service.
Trainees will follow the Level 3 Optical Assistant standard, complete End-Point Assessment (EPA) and, if required, Functional Skills in English. Training covers clinical screening, use of optical equipment, frame fitting and adjustments, customer care, record keeping, health & safety and relevant regulated activity procedures.
The apprenticeship starts on 30 December 2025 and lasts 1 year 6 months. The advertised wage is £16,163 per year (hourly rate varies by age). To apply, sign in with a GOV.
