The L3 Outdoor Instructor Apprenticeship at Celtic Harmony Camp is an 18-month paid apprenticeship based at the woodland Celtic Harmony site in Hertfordshire. Apprentices learn and lead educational outdoor activities and cultural heritage sessions focused on ancient Britain, teaching school groups, community visitors and families.
Daily duties include planning and delivering school trips, supporting themed prehistoric experience days, maintaining site facilities, and contributing to programme development.
Apprentices receive accredited training and multiple certifications including a Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor qualification, bushcraft and primitive skills modules, Level 3 Outdoor First Aid, Learning Beyond the Classroom and an Archery GB Instructor award. The role is full-time (40 hours per week on a monthly rota) and successful apprentices may be offered the chance to apply for a Junior Education Officer role after completion.
Practical requirements include willingness to work outdoors in all weather, a DBS check, and access to a car due to the rural site and lack of public transport. To apply, candidates should request an application form and send a CV and cover letter to the email provided.
