Apply NowFeeling overwhelmed about uni? Join a webinar with 19‑year‑old AuDHD student Harrison and his mum to explore practical strategies for managing anxiety, sensory needs, routines, friendships and study while living independently, and learn what helped him succeed in college and beyond.
A conversation with Harrison, a 19-year-old AuDHD (autistic + ADHD) university student, in which he shares his journey from early childhood overwhelm through college success to navigating independent university life. Harrison discusses what helped and what was challenging during the transition to university, and how he manages anxiety, sensory needs, routines, friendships and study demands while living away from home.
Harrison’s mum will also join to provide a parent/carer perspective. The session focuses on practical strategies, lived experience and resilience, offering relatable, strengths-based insight and hope. It is particularly suitable for parents of older primary and secondary-aged children, young people (14+ with parental support), and professionals who support neurodivergent students.
The event is organised by the Centre for Autism Wellbeing Hub (funded by University of Reading Alumni). For questions contact cfaevents@reading. ac.
