The Oxford Engineering Program 2026 is a two-week pre-college summer school for 13- to 15-year-olds held on an Oxford University campus (participants may be allocated to a college in Oxford or Cambridge depending on dates and subject choice). The course introduces foundational engineering topics such as thermodynamics, materials, mechanics and electrical engineering through lectures, practical tasks, logic puzzles and a project-based module where students work in pairs to design and present a working prototype.
Teaching is delivered in small classes (average 7, maximum 12) by tutors with undergraduate teaching experience at world-class universities. The academic offer includes 30 hours of sessions, tailored study materials, 1:1 career coaching/tutorials, academic-skills workshops (e.
g. , interview skills, academic writing) and a mentor programme. Participants finish with a graduation ceremony and receive a certificate and a written tutor evaluation.
Outside lessons there is a full social programme including college activities, two excursions (including an optional London day trip), and traditional collegiate experiences such as Formal Hall. Accommodation, most meals, insurance, materials and two coach excursions are included; shared Heathrow transfers are available for an additional fee.
