Work across multiple theatre projects and join talks and workshops with Front of House, Marketing and Technical staff. Meet professionals, explore career pathways and learn alongside students from across Oxfordshire. Ask about study, training and interview preparation.

Oxford Playhouse offers weeklong work experience placements for young people aged 14 to 18 who are interested in theatre and in understanding how a professional theatre is run. The placements are designed to give participants the chance to meet theatre professionals and learn about the different pathways into the industry.

Across the week, participants work on multiple projects and take part in talks and workshops with staff from different departments, including Front of House, Marketing and Technical. Groups are made up of students from different schools and colleges across Oxfordshire, giving participants the chance to learn alongside their peers while exploring a range of theatre roles.

The placement is not actor training, and there are no opportunities to perform or work backstage on a production. It is intended for students who want to find out more about careers in theatre, build their understanding of the industry, and ask questions about study, training and interview preparation.
