Oxford Summer Courses
Apply NowReady to think like a mathematician? Join an intensive summer school at Cambridge University colleges to sharpen your reasoning and problem‑solving, build rigorous arguments and boost your uni and career prospects. Explore challenging ideas, work with experts and connect with peers.
Oxford Summer Courses’ Mathematics summer school is designed for ambitious 16–17-year-olds who want to strengthen their mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Hosted in Cambridge University colleges, the programme goes beyond basic calculations to explore the theories and ideas that underpin mathematics.
Students work on rigorous thinking, learn how to build and test mathematical arguments, and develop a stronger foundation for tackling academic challenges and real-life problems. Teaching follows a tutorial-style format inspired by the Oxford approach, with interactive small-group seminars and personalised feedback from expert tutors.
Learners complete independent work such as essays or problem sheets, which are then discussed in 1:1 or 2:1 tutorials. The course also includes a masterclass on critical thinking and collaboration, plus a reflection session to help students track progress and set goals.
By the end of the programme, participants receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation, alongside the experience of studying and living in a Cambridge college setting.
