Apply NowWant to turn holey clothes into unique pieces? Join FRP's free Patch and Repurpose workshop series to learn mending, visible repair and decorative stitching across five hands-on afternoons. Build practical sewing skills, boost your creativity and connect with a community.
Patch and Repurpose is a free, community-focused workshop series run by the Forest Recycling Project (FRP) in partnership with REACT. The programme celebrates repair, reuse and sustainable living by teaching practical textile skills.
Sessions are welcoming and suitable for all abilities, from complete beginners to people already confident with a needle and thread. Across five relaxed, hands-on afternoons participants learn simple and creative mending techniques, visible mending and decorative repairs, upcycling and patchwork skills, basic sewing machine use, hand embroidery and decorative stitching.
The workshops encourage bringing in textiles from home to repair or transform while providing guidance on suitable materials. All sewing equipment and starter materials are provided. Workshops take place in Upper Edmonton at FRP and The Living Room Library.
Two groups start in January 2026 (see intakes). To register interest, email info@frpuk. org with "Patch and Repurpose" in the subject line.
The programme is funded by North London Waste Authority and is designed to build skills, reduce waste and strengthen local community connections.
