Combine work and study to become an HR professional: a 3-year Level 5 apprenticeship delivering the CIPD Associate Diploma with online learning and regular tutor sessions, leading to CIPD Associate Membership.

This Level 5 People Professional Apprenticeship combines on-the-job experience with formal study to develop mid-level HR skills. Apprentices follow the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, covering core units (organisational performance, evidence-based practice, professional behaviours), specialist units (employment relationship management, talent management, reward) and an optional unit.

Learning is delivered through a mix of online materials and regular tutor-led sessions.

The programme is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education and uses an Online and On Campus model: apprentices study online lessons (approximately 45 minutes each) during allocated time at work and attend regular in-person or virtual sessions with a college tutor. Assessment includes unit-level CIPD assessments and an end-point assessment comprised of a consultative project and a professional discussion.

Completion awards CIPD Associate Membership and the designation "Assoc CIPD".

Apprentices must be in suitable employment to undertake the apprenticeship. The course is flexible with start dates available throughout the year and a stated start month of Sep 2026. The programme is aimed at learners employed in HR or people-management roles who wish to progress in people professional careers.
