This summer enrichment course at the University of Michigan teaches high school students how to craft persuasive essays and strengthen public speaking. Over interactive workshops, students study rhetorical techniques, analyze famous examples of persuasion, and practice structured argument and storytelling to engage different audiences.
Learning activities include small-group workshops, peer reviews, group discussions and live presentations designed to build both written and spoken confidence. The program emphasises authentic voice, clarity of argument, stylistic impact and portfolio-building; students receive instructor feedback and a detailed performance report at the end of the course.
Available as day or residential options with 2- and 3-week sessions, the course provides a university-campus experience. Residential tuition typically includes housing, meals, organized activities and local transportation; additional details on accommodation and transfer logistics are provided upon acceptance.

Tuition for residential programs typically includes housing (where applicable), 2-3 meals per day, activities, excursions and on-campus transportation. Not included: application fee, airfare, off-campus meals, laundry, linens and personal spending. International students pay a mandatory international registration fee for U.S. programs (USD $379 residential or $239 commuter) which covers visa support, airport transfers, medical insurance and arrival assistance.
