Pharmacy Assistant Apprenticeship

This Pharmacy Assistant Apprenticeship is a hands-on role based at a community pharmacy (90 Hagley Road, DY8 1QU, Stourbridge). You will work mainly on the shop floor and prescription counter providing customer-facing services, assisting with dispensing prescription medicines, advising customers on over-the-counter medication, ordering and rotating stock, and supporting minor ailments services.

The post is a paid apprenticeship and includes study time to gain a pharmacy services assistant Level 2 qualification.

The apprenticeship is full-time (40 hours per week) with typical hours Mon-Fri 09:00-18:00 (may include weekends). Training is delivered partly on the job and partly by the training provider I & F LIMITED; the programme includes Functional Skills if required and covers tasks such as receiving and logging prescriptions, using pharmacy IT systems, working to SOPs, and promoting patient safety and public health.

Applicants are asked to attach a CV and complete application questions in full. Desirable qualifications include GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4. The employer prefers candidates who can reach the pharmacy within 35 minutes and notes that driving ability should be stated if applicable.

The apprenticeship starts in December 2025 and runs for approximately 15 months.
