Pharmacy Dispenser Apprenticeship - Citywide Health (Fulford Pharmacy)

This is an 18-month (1 year 6 months) Pharmacy Dispenser apprenticeship with Citywide Health based at Fulford Pharmacy in York. You will work alongside the qualified dispensing team to learn the practical and regulatory aspects of dispensing medicines, customer care, stock management and pharmacy systems.

Day-to-day duties include assembling prescribed items, in-process accuracy checks, dealing with customer queries in person and by phone, liaising with surgeries and other healthcare professionals, and maintaining patient confidentiality under GDPR.

The apprenticeship includes on-site training to achieve the Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 standard delivered by Bradford College. Training is primarily on-site with an e-learning portfolio and on-site tutors; functional skills in maths and English will be provided if required.

The role is full-time (40 hours per week) and may involve evening and weekend working depending on branch opening hours.

Wage for the first year is listed as £15,704 (with an hourly equivalent of £7. 55 for a 40-hour week) and successful completion provides the Level 2 certificate required to work in a pharmacy. The apprenticeship offers progression opportunities within Citywide Health, local GP/hospital roles, or further training towards becoming a practising pharmacist.
