Reach Cambridge
Apply NowCurious about reality, ethics or what makes a strong argument? Join Reach Cambridge's Philosophy summer school at the University of Cambridge - explore big ideas with expert tutors, build critical thinking and argument skills, and boost your uni applications.
This Philosophy summer course, run by Reach Cambridge and hosted in the University of Cambridge, introduces students to key concepts and schools of thought from the history of philosophy while developing critical thinking and argumentation skills. Students explore questions such as what counts as a good argument, the nature of reality, governance, and the role of art, guided by expert academics and experienced tutors.
The programme combines 20 hours of academic tuition per week (36 hours over a two-week session) with guest lectures, practical workshops (including leadership, interview skills and public speaking), cultural excursions around the UK, and collegiate accommodation with 24-hour onsite supervision. At the end of the course students receive a Reach Cambridge certificate of completion and may reference the learning in future university applications.
The course is residential and designed to give a taste of student life at Cambridge; students are accommodated in university colleges in same-sex dormitories (single or shared rooms), receive two meals a day, and take part in organised afternoon and evening activities and two coach excursions to cultural highlights.
