Join curators Dr Annebella Pollen and Clare Grafik for a short exhibition tour of Snap Happy! at The Photographers' Gallery. The tour introduces the exhibition’s themes, focusing on how photographs and archives reveal the creativity, curiosity and distinctive perspectives of generations of young photographers.
It also explores the wider cultural story of how photography became mainstream and much loved by younger generations.
The session offers a closer look at the research and content behind the exhibition, alongside Annebella Pollen’s book Whippersnappers: How Children Became Photographers. Visitors will hear about the use of advertising, manuals, comics and toys in the exhibition, and how family snapshots, school projects and photographic experimentation helped shape a child’s-eye view of the world.
Admission to all exhibitions is included with the ticket.
