Physics at Cambridge: Pre-College Program 2026

Physics at Cambridge is a two-week pre-college summer programme for ambitious 16-918-year-olds held on the University of Cambridge colleges. The course is designed to extend high-school physics knowledge toward university-level thinking, encourage independent research, and demonstrate the range of degree programmes related to physics.

Small class sizes (average 7, maximum 12) are led by tutors with experience at Cambridge, Oxford and other world-class universities.

The academic programme covers modules such as Classical Mechanics, Wave Phenomena, Electronic Engineering, Optics, Electricity & Magnetism, Thermodynamics, Atomic & Particle Physics, and an introduction to Quantum Mechanics. The course includes academic workshops, professional development sessions, 1:1 career coaching and mentor support, and specifies 30 hours of academic sessions delivered by Oxbridge/external tutors.

Participants receive study materials, a graduation ceremony and a certificate on completion.

Multiple two-week sessions run in July and August 2026 with day and boarding options. The course fee covers accommodation for boarding participants, meals (breakfast & dinner), excursions (including Oxford and optional London trips), comprehensive summer school insurance and other listed inclusions.

London Heathrow shared transfers are offered (fee A3180 each way). Booking requires payment of a deposit and completion of an enrolment form via the Best Parents website.
