Fancy diving into relativity, quantum mechanics and astrophysics this summer? Join an Oxford-style residential course in Cambridge, learn with subject specialists in tiny tutorial groups, tackle practical problems and boost your university-ready skills and STEM connections.

CLOSED THIS CYCLE

Oxford Summer CoursesPhysics is a residential/on-campus summer school hosted in Cambridge colleges for ambitious 16 6-17-year-olds. The programme uses Oxford-style tutorial teaching in very small groups (maximum 8 students) to explore topics from the history of the atom to relativity, quantum mechanics, astrophysics and particle physics.

Students work through a mix of seminars, tutorials and practical problem-based tasks tailored to the cohort's interests. Teaching is delivered by subject specialists through interactive seminars and personalised 1:1 or 2:1 tutorials.

Participants complete two pieces of independent work (essays or problem sheets) which are assessed and discussed with tutors. On completion students receive a certificate of achievement, detailed tutor feedback and a personalised letter of recommendation to support future academic applications.

The programme combines academic study with cultural excursions and supervised social activities in Cambridge. Multiple accommodation tiers are offered (Non-residential, Plus, Superior, Premier) with differing inclusions; meals, trips and some transfers are included depending on the chosen tier.

Apply online via the Oxford Summer Courses website to secure a place; spaces are limited.
