Pinsent Masons' Solicitor Apprenticeship is a six-year earn-while-you-learn programme based in Birmingham, Leeds and London. Apprentices combine on-the-job legal work with academic study towards a Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship standard, a fully sponsored LLB in Legal Practice and Skills, and preparation for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).
The role offers practical experience on real client matters alongside structured study, supervision and a skills coach.
During the apprenticeship you will typically have one dedicated study day each week and spend the remaining four days working in the office. In the first four years you will be based in one or two legal teams; in the final two years you join the trainee solicitor cohort and complete six-month placements across four departments.
Responsibilities include attending client meetings, legal research, drafting correspondence and progressing matters as skills develop. Some travel within the UK and Ireland may be required; travel-related business expenses will be reimbursed in line with firm policy.
The programme is fully funded (no university fees) and pays a starting salary (see remuneration). The recruitment process includes registration and application, an online blended assessment, an in-person assessment centre and then an offer.
Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK for the full duration of the apprenticeship and applicants who have completed more than one year of a degree are not eligible.
