Get expert insight into the US midterm results, then sharpen an essay competition entry with advice on A Level politics study and exams. Talks are recorded for archiving; Q&A sessions are not.

Closes today

This online conference is designed for A Level students interested in politics and current affairs. It brings together the Financial Times, the American Politics Group of the Political Studies Association, and the Centre for Transformative and Global Justice to support students taking part in the FT-APG A Level Engagement Project.

The event is split into two parts. The first focuses on the 2026 US midterms, giving students insight into the election results and expert commentary on American politics. The second supports participants with preparing an essay competition entry and offers advice for A Level politics study and exam preparation.

It is intended to help students strengthen their understanding of political issues, develop their arguments, and gain ideas for their competition work. Talks will be recorded for archiving, but the question and answer sections will not be recorded.

Participants should register to receive reminder emails and the meeting link on the day of the event.
