Explore different healthcare roles across NHS Wales through a work-experience placement. Build confidence and gain experience while figuring out which job could suit you. Applying means completing an application form and health questionnaire from the information pack.

Powys Teaching Health Board offers work experience for students who are considering a future in healthcare and want to understand the different roles available in NHS Wales. The programme is designed to support the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals and to help young people decide which job might be right for them.

The health board works closely with local schools, colleges and Careers Wales, and its staff also attend careers events to talk about working in NHS Wales. Previous participants describe the placements as useful for building confidence, gaining experience and strengthening future applications.

To apply, students need to complete the application form and health questionnaire included in the information pack. The page also notes that some areas cannot offer work experience because of age restrictions, and further enquiries can be made by email.
