Bucksmore's Pre-University Medical Summer Course in Cambridge offers motivated students aged 15-17 an intensive two-week programme taught at approximately first-year undergraduate level within a University of Cambridge college setting. The course combines medical theory (anatomy, physiology, genetics, pathology, immunology) with applied and ethical perspectives to prepare students for higher education in medicine and related biomedical fields.
Teaching is delivered in small tutorial groups (typical class size 8) and includes interactive workshops, laboratory-style activities, clinical simulations, guest lectures and university preparation masterclasses. Students take part in two full-day and one half-day excursion per week and follow a structured timetable of lessons and evening academic and social activities.
This residential course is based at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, with on-campus accommodation, three meals per day and organised transfers (conditions apply). Upon completion students receive a personalised report card, Bucksmore certification and a letter of recommendation.
