This Pre-University Preparation Medicine course in Oxford (run by Bucksmore Education) gives students an immersive introduction to both pre-clinical and clinical aspects of medical study. Participants explore foundational scientific knowledge underpinning medical sciences and are introduced to concepts of patient care, clinical research and biomedical science.
The programme blends seminars, guest lectures and practical workshops to develop critical thinking and research skills. Students apply learning through research and project work that reflect evidence-based practice in medicine and gain experience of university-style teaching in Oxford lecture halls and auditoriums.
The course offers campus living at St Hilda's College (University of Oxford) and includes weekly excursions, social activities and opportunities to explore UK medical institutions to enrich students' cultural and academic experience. Courses run in June-August 2026 with multiple start dates and are offered in 2- or 4-week formats.
The programme is designed for 15to18 year olds preparing for higher education and medical study. Successful attendees receive a certificate of attendance and may request a letter of recommendation.
