Explore healthcare through placements across clinical and non-clinical areas, and compare different specialities, departments and services. Use the experience to make more informed choices about future study or job options.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust offers work experience placements for people who want to explore careers in healthcare and learn more about future study or job options. Placements are available across a range of clinical and non-clinical areas, with opportunities covering different specialities, departments and services.

The programme is designed to help applicants make informed choices about their future career path. Placement delivery depends on departmental capacity, so not every request can be accommodated, but the Trust aims to support as many applications as possible.

Applications must be made through the NHS work experience portal. Applicants are asked to apply for one placement at a time and select their preferred placement dates as part of the online form. The Trust asks for applications to be submitted at least eight weeks before the preferred placement date, and applications are usually reviewed around six to eight weeks before the placement starts.
