Earn a BEng (Hons) while working at AstraZeneca: a 5-year Process Engineering Apprenticeship based at Macclesfield that gives hands-on lab-scale manufacturing experience, mentoring, and real responsibility in multidisciplinary teams.

AstraZeneca’s Process Engineering Apprenticeship sits within Process Technology & Development (PT&D) and offers a five-year programme as an alternative to full-time university. Apprentices will support laboratory-scale manufacturing and process development for oral solid dosage forms (tablets and capsules), including equipment ownership and operation to support project work.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and pharmaceutical scientists, gaining practical, hands-on experience in formulation and manufacturing process development while studying towards a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering. The programme includes structured support from a line manager, mentor and an apprentice buddy, plus access to the AstraZeneca early talent network and development opportunities.

Roles are based at AstraZeneca’s Macclesfield Campus. Applicants should demonstrate enthusiasm, a passion to learn, initiative, logical thinking and the ability to work independently; specific educational requirements are provided on individual job adverts.
