Join The Keys Yarm as a Production Chef Apprentice and train in a busy gastropub kitchen, gaining hands-on experience preparing British dishes, maintaining food safety and hygiene, and operating kitchen equipment. The role involves assisting with cooking, portioning, stock control, and supporting service delivery while following health & safety and safeguarding procedures.

This apprenticeship includes day-release training with Middlesbrough College for the Production Chef Level 2 qualification. You will have one college day per week alongside on-the-job training, covering topics such as preparing meat, fish and vegetables, allergen management, hygiene, stock rotation, use of kitchen equipment, and teamwork.

The programme lasts one year and there are 2 positions available.

The role is based at 63 High Street, Yarm, TS15 9BH. Working hours are 30 hours per week, spread over 5 days (exact days and hours TBC). The apprenticeship starts on 6 December 2025.

£11,778 per year

Pay & Benefits

£11,778 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. £7.55 per hour with a pay review after 6 months with a view to a pay increment depending on performance.
