This Production Chef Apprenticeship with Hargreaves Enterprises Ltd (The Cranleigh) is a hands-on role focused on preparing and producing food to standardised recipes in a high-volume environment. You will work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams, suppliers and occasionally customers, reporting to a senior production chef or kitchen manager.
The apprenticeship includes both on-the-job training and off-the-job study with Furness College to achieve the Production Chef Level 2 qualification.
The apprenticeship is one year in duration, starts on Monday 5 January 2026, and is a 37-hour week role (hours to be confirmed at interview). Typical tasks include preparing and cooking meat, fish and poultry, working with fresh and frozen ingredients, portioning and presentation, stock control, food safety and hygiene, allergen management, and basic food equipment maintenance.
Training includes professional skills, communication, teamwork, time management and wellbeing techniques.
There are 2 positions available at The Cranleigh, located on Lake Road, Bowness on Windermere (LA23 3DE). Desirable qualifications are GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 4). If you do not yet hold these, you can complete them alongside the apprenticeship.

£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.
