Cyber Security Course for Kids is a three-day summer holiday bootcamp in Edinburgh run by IT Professional Training. It is designed for young learners aged 10 to 15 and aims to introduce the foundations of cybersecurity in a visual, dynamic, and interactive way.
The course covers a wide range of topics, including introduction to cybersecurity, the principles of cybersecurity, computer crime, OSI basics, internet safety, cyberbullying, privacy and security, data security, digital credentials and passwords, policy and procedures, and the basics of digital investigations. Learners also explore ethics, law and legislation, risk, threats and vulnerabilities, security testing, and methods of attacking and defending.
The bootcamp is intended for beginners to intermediate computer science learners who have at least some prior knowledge and interest in the subject. It is presented as a practical and engaging course that helps participants build useful skills for staying safe online and understanding future digital careers.
