Want to dive into data science this summer? Join ITPT's three-day bootcamp to explore Python, analyse real datasets, build mini-projects and present visual insights, boost your skills, portfolio and uni prospects while creating hands-on learning for kids.
This three-day summer holiday bootcamp introduces children to the world of data science through practical, hands-on learning. Participants explore the full data science lifecycle, including collecting data, cleaning and transforming datasets, analysing information, and presenting findings visually.
The course also covers Python libraries, statistical models, and ways to turn data into useful stories and insights. Learners work through interactive activities, quizzes, mini-projects, assignments, and problem-solving tasks designed to make the content visual, dynamic, and engaging.
Topics include data gathering, exploring data with Python, pandas DataFrames, measures of central tendency and spread, conditional filtering, big data and bias, and interpreting results. The course is aimed at young learners who already have some programming knowledge and an interest in computer science.
The bootcamp runs in person at IT Professional Training’s Edinburgh centre at 21 Calder Road, Edinburgh, and has free parking available. To join, applicants must complete the admission form and make payment after submitting their interest through Eventbrite.
Full course details are available from ITPT’s website or by contacting the team directly.
