Apply NowFancy seeing healthcare in action abroad? Join Projects Abroad's medical internship in the Philippines to shadow doctors, learn clinical skills, support community outreach and boost your uni/career applications with real hospital experience.
This Projects Abroad High School Specials medical internship in the Philippines gives teenage students direct observational experience in local hospitals and health clinics. Participants shadow doctors and nurses across departments (e.
g. , dentistry, obstetrics, dispensary, laboratory and treatment units), assist in supervised community outreach, and learn basic clinical skills such as measuring blood pressure and checking blood sugar.
The programme includes a mix of clinical shadowing (25 hours) and volunteer service hours (15 hours). You will live with a local host family (accommodation included) and take part in group activities, cultural immersion and organised weekend trips.
All placements and outreach activities are supervised by local medical staff, and Projects Abroad provides full induction, 24-hour in-country support and emergency assistance. The experience is positioned to strengthen CVs and university or job applications and to help participants decide if a medical career is right for them.
Work is based in and around San Remigio (placements at local hospitals/clinics) with accommodation in Bogo City. The project emphasises safety, supervision, and community impact through health screenings and educational workshops in disadvantaged areas.
