Build and manage a virtual investment portfolio for a fictional client with £150,000, using current market data in small teams over 20 weeks.

The Prologue Investment Academy is a hands-on, practical programme for ambitious sixth form students who want to take their learning beyond the classroom and into the world of investment management. It centres on a fictional client with £150,000 to invest, giving students a real-world style brief with defined objectives, preferences and risk considerations.

Working in small teams over 20 weeks and 40 hours of structured sessions, students research the client’s needs, develop an investment strategy and actively manage a portfolio using current market data on the StockTrak Virtual Stock Market Simulator. The programme combines financial markets, investment products, risk and return, diversification and portfolio construction with independent research, collaboration and decision-making under changing circumstances.

The Academy finishes with teams presenting and defending their portfolio choices before a panel of industry professionals. Students leave with a Prologue Evidence Pack documenting their role, analysis, decisions and reflection, creating material they can use for UCAS personal statements, university and apprenticeship interviews, and early-career applications.
