Through a blend of taught theory, interactive practice, structured debates and presentation work, students refine vocal technique, body language, impromptu speaking and argument construction.
Participants receive instructor feedback and detailed performance reports.
The program offers both residential (boarding) and day options on the UCLA campus, providing a university-level experience with supervised accommodation, campus activities and excursions. Students can expect small, interactive classes taught by UCLA-selected instructors, plus supervised social activities and access to campus facilities.
International students receive visa support and an international registration package when applicable.
On completion, students receive a Course Completion Certificate and a Letter of Recognition from the Summer Institute. The course is aimed at high school students aged 14-18 who wish to develop public speaking, debating and presentation skills for academic enrichment and college preparation.
