Get an insight into hospital life through placements across different departments. Places are limited and requests aren’t guaranteed, but students studying A-level Maths and Science may be considered for specialist placements in medicine.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust has relaunched its work experience programme for young people interested in healthcare and NHS careers. The placements are designed to give applicants a valuable insight into hospital life, helping them build skills, confidence, awareness and a better understanding of the world of NHS work.
The programme offers a wide range of placements across different areas of the hospital, although requests cannot always be guaranteed. Applications are shortlisted because places are limited, and some departments cannot accept shadowing requests.
The team asks applicants to complete the form carefully, include the department they are interested in and the dates they are available, and submit the pre-placement health questionnaire where required. For those considering a career in medicine, there may also be specialist placements for students studying A levels in Maths and Science.
