Explore computing and engineering through hands-on robotics, programming, VR/AR and electronics, then team up for a hackathon. Across five days, School staff supervise the programme and introduce you to career routes in tech.

XP Experiences in Tech is a five-day work experience programme run by the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Queen's University Belfast. It is designed for secondary students who want to explore what a future in technology could look like, with a particular focus on computing and engineering pathways.

Participants take part in a range of hands-on activities, including robotics, programming, VR/AR, electronics and a hackathon. The programme also introduces students to the career options available in computing and electrical and electronic engineering, helping them understand the breadth of roles and routes into the sector.

The experience is fully supervised by School staff and begins with a full induction, including a compulsory health and safety briefing. Students are expected to remain in the University buildings throughout the day, work as part of a team, and make their own way to and from campus.

Applicants should be available for the full week and should have an interest in studying technology-related subjects at a higher level.
