Quintus Scholars’ Aerospace Engineering & Space Innovation programme is a two-week summer school focused on the methods of aerospace engineering rather than a general overview of space history. Students work through orbital mechanics, propulsion systems, spacecraft design, aerodynamics, structures, and mission planning, building up from first principles to a full mission concept.
Teaching combines morning lectures, design workshops, research-led discussion, and evening programmes. Across the two cities, students tackle real engineering problems, analyse trade-offs, and receive direct tutor feedback.
The course emphasises reasoning, problem-solving, and the ability to justify design decisions under pressure. By the end of the programme, each student completes a research project and makes a final presentation on a mission of their own design.
The work is intended to support higher education preparation and can form the basis for a formally assessed regulated award. The programme runs in separate age cohorts and is aimed at students who want a serious introduction to aerospace engineering and space systems.
